Following the rocky launch of Payday 3 last month, developer Starbreeze has apologized for remaining silent on the game's delayed patches.
The details:
- In a new blog post, the developer provided a brief update on the game's upcoming patch, which promises over 200 quality-of-life features and is currently the "main priority" for the team. According to Starbreeze, the patch is currently undergoing a "testing and certification process" to ensure platform parity, implying that the update is not far away.
- The developer also states that the reason for the patch's delay is "very long and complicated," but summarizes the issue as the team discovering "critical errors with our update pipeline" that could have resulted in player progression being wiped if not addressed as soon as possible.
- Starbreeze also claims to be listening to feedback on the game's progression system and will share more information soon. It will also start releasing more content once it can deliver patches without incident, with those drops expected "before the end of the year."
More gaming news:
- Nintendo has updated its content guidelines, and it will likely start cracking down on content creators who cover game modifications and leak information about upcoming projects. The company explained that content that includes images, sounds, or other details that "cannot be used in regular gameplay" may violate its copyright.
- The new PS5 model will require an internet connection to verify its disc drive. It is unknown why Sony requires online verification; however, it is thought to be in place to combat piracy and third-party repairs.
