Sony pulls recent Neil Druckmann interview after finding "significant errors and inaccuracies"
Sony has removed an interview with Naughty Dog co-president Neil Druckmann after a series of edited responses resulted in mixed reactions from fans.
The details:
In a recent interview with Sony, Druckmann discussed various topics, including the use of AI in game development and Naughty Dog's next game, which the director reportedly stated "could redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming." The interview led to criticism from fans who hold an anti-AI stance and saw Druckmann as “overhyping” the project.
Shortly after its publication, Druckmann took to X to clarify his comments, stating that Sony’s edits had resulted in context, intent, and words being removed. The director then shared what he claimed was the full answer to the question regarding future projects, suggesting his words had been heavily altered due to the length of his response.
Sony has now pulled the interview entirely and issued an apology to Druckmann after finding “several significant errors and inaccuracies that don’t represent his perspective and values.” “We apologize to Neil for misrepresenting his words and for any negative impact this interview might have caused him and his team,” Sony wrote on its original webpage. “In coordination with Naughty Dog and SIE, we have removed the interview.”
