Court documents from Microsoft's legal battle with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) have been made public, and one document pertaining to the acquisition of ZeniMax Media revealed the company's plans up to the fiscal year 2024.

The details:

  • The ZeniMax presentation from July 2020 (via ResetEra) lists a number of titles and additional content that the company will be developing over the next four years. Some are already known or have been released, such as Starfield, Redfall, the unnamed Indiana Jones project, and The Elder Scrolls VI, while others, such as Fallout 3 and Oblivion remasters, have yet to be officially announced.
  • A new Doom titled Doom Year Zero, Dishonored 3, and a sequel to Tango Gameworks' Ghostwire: Tokyo are among the unannounced new games mentioned in the document. Two other projects, dubbed Project Kestrel and Project Platinum, were also mentioned. According to the presentation, Doom Year Zero had DLC plans in place back in 2020, with additional content planned for both the year of release and the year after.
  • Fans have been requesting remasters of Fallout 3 and Oblivion for years, with the latter being reported to be in development under Virtuos earlier this year. It's unclear if both projects are linked since the original titles use the same engine, as it was stated that the Oblivion remaster would be built using Unreal Engine 5 for its visuals, with its original engine responsible for gameplay and physics.
  • However, given the current state of the gaming industry, some of the projects mentioned in the document may have been canceled for a variety of reasons. Many of the unannounced titles are also likely to be released after the fiscal year 2024 due to delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and other external factors, as the recently released Starfield was still aiming for a pre-June 2021 release.
