Peter Molyneux announces his final game Masters of Albion will arrive in April

Peter Molyneux has officially announced that his "final" god game, Masters of Albion, will launch on April 22, 2026, for PC.

The details:

  • Molyneux first announced the project at Gamescom 2024 as an entirely self-funded, open-world god game that draws inspiration from his previous projects, including Black & White, Dungeon Keeper, and Fable. "Masters of Albion is a bold reimagining of the God Game genre from the creator who defined it," the Steam page reads. " Revel in the freedom of true Godhood. In MoA, there is no single solution, only your solution. Build whatever, wherever. Hire whoever, whenever. Kill or carry, crush or coax.
  • It has also been revealed that the 22cans’ development team is now composed of industry veterans including Media Molecule co-founder Mark Healey and composer Russell Shaw, both of whom have worked with Molyneux on several major projects over the past few decades at Theme Park studio Bullfrog and Fable developer Lionhead. Black & White 2 designer Iain Wright and LittleBigPlanet art director Kareem Ettouney are also confirmed to be involved in the project.
  • Molyneux has positioned this as his "final game," stating it represents the culmination of his life's work. He previously told Edge Magazine that Masters of Albion serves as a shot at redemption after overpromising on most of his releases, including the Fable series, the mobile title Curiosity: What's in the Cube, the Xbox Kinect demo Project Milo, and Godus, giving the designer a reputation of failing to deliver.
