According to Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, its upcoming Like a Dragon spin-off will include a "Special Trial Version" of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
The details:
- RGG Studio director Masayoshi Yokoyama revealed in a new developer update and overview video that Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name will include a demo version of Infinite Wealth, which is set to release in 2024. The trial will be available alongside the November 9 release of Gaiden on PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X/S, and PC, and will include scenes not found in the main game after players complete Gaiden.
- It's unclear what the Special Trial Version will include, but it could be a short snippet of the main game or a standalone demo that introduces players to the game's world, story, and characters ahead of time. Infinite Wealth is a sequel to Yakuza: Like a Dragon, with the player taking on the role of Ichiban Kasuga, one of the game's two protagonists, the other being Kazuma Kiryu, who was formally the series' main protagonist until the seventh mainline installment.
- Gaiden is a spin-off that focuses on Kiryu after he chooses to fake his death in order to protect his friends and family, and it will serve as an introduction to the character for those who started the franchise with Yakuza: Like a Dragon and thus know little of the character.
More gaming news:
- Dead Island 2 will be ported to "another platform" within the next year, and it's speculated that it could be Nintendo's successor to the Switch, which is expected to launch in the second half of 2024.
- According to its director, Tekken 8 will not include Denuvo anti-piracy DRM; however, the game's EULA states otherwise. The director claimed that the text was simply copied from Tekken 7, and fans should not jump to conclusions.
