Kojima Productions has provided a new look at OD, the studio’s upcoming horror title that fans believe is directly connected to Hideo Kojima’s cancelled Silent Hills project.

The details:

  • The new teaser trailer, which revealed the game's new subtitle "KNOCK," debuted at the Beyond the Strand event in Tokyo. It depicts the player character reading a pamphlet and then lighting several candles in first-person perspective. The character then lights what appears to be a candle shaped like a child's head, which drips blood, before a door creaks open.
  • Several partially censored messages appear on-screen throughout the trailer, prompting fans to try to figure out what they might be. Unsurprisingly, several Reddit users appear to have already made a solid guess, using a similar font to fill in the gaps. “TEN YEARS SINCE THE LEGENDARY HORROR GAME ‘P.T.,’ THE CURSED SURVIVORS HAVE ONCE AGAIN VENTURED INTO THE FORBIDDEN,” the fan-decoded message reads. “THE BUILDING WAS REPLICATED FROM AN ABANDONED CLINIC FOUND IN AN ISOLATED VILLAGE. AND THEN, THEY WERE TRAPPED IN A SINISTER RITUAL.”
  • Not much is known about OD, which was first revealed with a strange and creepy teaser in 2023, featuring some impressive motion capture. However, it has been confirmed that it is being built on Unreal Engine and that the “Knock” subtitle refers to Kojima’s plan to make the “knock” a feared sound. "I am afraid of the 'knock' sound, so I wanted to make that very frightening," he explained.
