Jet Set Radio remake screenshots and gameplay have been leaked
Screenshots and footage from an unannounced remake of Sega's Dreamcast classic Jet Set Radio have surfaced online, claiming to be a different project from the previously announced reboot.
The details:
X user @MSKAZZY69 shared four screenshots of a remake of the original Jet Set Radio with revised character designs, claiming the images were provided by Midori, a Sega leaker who recently disappeared from social media. Sega has yet to comment on the authenticity of the leak.
According to the leaker, the screenshots were taken from the game's 2021 build built in Unreal Engine 5, so many elements may have changed since then. A video has also been uploaded to YouTube, showing the build in action, with the player skating around, performing mid-air tricks, and spraying graffiti on various surfaces.
MSKAZZY69 also claims that this remake is unrelated to Sega's franchise reboot, which was announced in late 2023 and will allegedly be a free-to-play live service release. The accuracy of this claim has been called into question as the game's core mechanics appear to have changed significantly compared to the original title, such as the addition of an open world, but others have pointed out that Sega may have heavily leaned into modernizing the game.
