Humble Games has joined the growing list of companies announcing layoffs, with some higher-level employees seemingly directly impacted.

The details:

  • After former employees at the publisher announced that they were looking for work on LinkedIn, the company confirmed the job cuts in a statement to Videogames.si, stating that industry "trends" had resulted in a restructuring. "Yesterday was a difficult day for Humble Games and we can confirm that we had to say goodbye to valued colleagues," the publisher said in its statement. "Like many companies this year, we have experienced trends that required this restructure in order to ensure our long-term success."

  • It is currently unknown how many employees have been laid off, but it has been confirmed that some of the job cuts appear to have directly affected some of the company's more senior staff members, with former Lead Release Manager Estelle Skeels announcing her departure.

  • Humble Games is best known for its work in the indie scene, publishing a large catalog of titles such as Slay the Spire and running the Humble Bundle storefront, which allows users to purchase collections of games, ebooks, and other software at a significant discount with a portion of the proceeds going to charity.
