Hellblade 2 will run at 30 FPS on Xbox Series X/S
It has been confirmed that Ninja Theory's upcoming game Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will only run at 30 FPS on Xbox consoles, with no graphics mode options.
The details:
According to GamePro, the game will feature a cap of 30 FPS and will use a dynamic resolution, as opposed to the standard performance and quality options found in other modern console titles. It is unclear whether the decision was made due to the weaker Series S, but the PC version can achieve a higher frame rate.
Mark Slater-Tunstill, the VFX director for Hellblade 2, reportedly commented on the decision to lock the frame rate, stating that it should make the experience feel more "cinematic," while GamePro noted that the slower gameplay makes the limit less noticeable.
The game was announced in 2019 and is a direct sequel to the critically acclaimed Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. It will be available for Xbox and PC as a digital-only release on May 21.
