Verified sources have claimed that both projects are in early development at Halo Studios.
Halo Studios is reportedly working on Unreal Engine 5 remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3, following this year’s Halo: Campaign Evolved remake of the original game.
The details:
The claim comes from Halo leaker Rebs Gaming, who says multiple independent sources have confirmed that remakes of Halo 2 and Halo 3’s campaigns are “definitely happening” and are already in active development at Halo Studios.
It’s said that the projects are now in the early stages of development, with the sources having shared both proof of their identity and clips of the pre-launch Halo: Campaign Evolved to verify the legitimacy of the claims.
The leaker also claims that Halo: Campaign Evolved’s new prequel missions will feature Brutes and other nods to Halo 2 and 3, and that a new Skull modifier could let Brutes appear in the original Combat Evolved campaign as a teaser for the later remakes.
Beyond the remakes, Halo Studios is also believed to be developing a separate multiplayer project and the next mainline Halo game, all built in Unreal Engine 5 following the studio’s 2024 rebrand from 343 Industries.
