Grand Theft Auto VI could feature user-generated content similarly to Fortnite and Roblox, report claims

It has been reported that Rockstar is currently discussing the possibility of allowing players to add custom user-made content to Grand Theft Auto 6, similar to titles like Fortnite and Roblox.
The details:
According to a new report from Digiday, three anonymous insiders claim that Rockstar is in talks with "top" GTA content creators, as well as Roblox and Fortnite community developers, about including user-generated content (UGC) in GTA VI. It is said that the conversations have been "relatively open-ended," but it is unclear whether Rockstar intends to compensate creators beyond exposure, given that platforms such as Roblox allow players to receive a portion of the revenue generated by item sales and player traffic.
The feature would apparently allow players to not only change the existing world of GTA VI using Rockstar's official assets, but also to import custom assets involving a creator's owned IP.
UGC is nothing new for the GTA franchise, as Rockstar acquired the developers of GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 modding platforms, FiveM and RedM, CFX.re, in 2023. The tools enable creators to create new game modes, such as the widely popular "role-playing servers," in which players take on the roles of custom characters in a world populated by others living a more "grounded" daily life. Some of these servers are often funded through subscriptions or payments, which can provide benefits such as faster queue times.
