FromSoftware's Switch 2 exclusive The Duskbloods now has a network test date

FromSoftware has confirmed a closed network test for The Duskbloods, its Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive multiplayer game directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. The test runs August 21 to 23, giving players their first real hands-on with the game ahead of a planned 2026 launch.

The details:

• The closed network test takes place August 21 to 23. Applications open July 22 and close July 28, with successful applicants notified on August 7. A Nintendo Switch 2 and an active Nintendo Switch Online subscription are required to participate.
• FromSoftware says the test is primarily designed to conduct large-scale network load testing and assess the game's online systems ahead of launch, rather than to gather design feedback.
• The Duskbloods is a multiplayer action game in which up to eight players compete and cooperate simultaneously, taking on the role of Bloodsworn, characters from different times and places summoned to compete for "First Blood." Matches blend PvP and PvE combat across Gothic and Victorian-inspired environments.
• The game is directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki and confirmed as a Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive. Kadokawa, FromSoftware's parent company, has reiterated the game is still on course for a 2026 release.
• The Duskbloods marks a notable shift for FromSoftware, which built its reputation on single-player experiences. The studio has not released a purely multiplayer-focused title before.
