FromSoftware boss responds to fan requests for a Bloodborne remake
Hidetaka Miyazaki, FromSoftware's president and Souls director, has commented on the possibility of a Bloodborne remake, stating that he is "very happy" to see that fans are still enthusiastic about the game years after its release.
The details:
In an interview published alongside the recent Elden Ring DLC reveal, Miyazaki was asked by Eurogamer about a possible PS5 or future hardware remake of the PS4 title. “It is a title we hold very dear and just as much as our fans,” he said. “It does make me very happy to see that there are still so many people passionate about it.”
Although he did not comment on the possibility of a remake, he did say that he believes new hardware is important in adding value to a remake, for example, the PS5 remake of Demon Souls. "I think having new hardware is definitely a part of what gives these remakes value," Miyazaki said. "Things you weren't able to achieve on previous generations of hardware, ways you weren't able to render specific expressions - [new hardware] sometimes makes it possible.”
However, this does not necessarily imply that we will have to wait for the release of the next PlayStation, as the director went on to say that new hardware is not "the be all and end all," and that bringing old titles to new consoles "allows more players to appreciate all the games" due to improved accessibility.
Despite some fans requesting a remake of the 2015 title, others have simply asked for a current-generation update that includes 60 FPS and 4K support, similar to other PS4 era games available on PS5. Until then, the game can only be played at 30 FPS.
