Forza Horizon 6 is set in Japan and will be released next year, Microsoft announces

Microsoft has announced Forza Horizon 6, the latest entry in its more casual-friendly racing franchise, with an Xbox and PC release scheduled for 2026.

The details:

  • As announced at the Tokyo Game Show, Forza Horizon 6 will be released next year and is based in Japan. The game will be coming to PC and Xbox Series X/S, though it has been confirmed that it will arrive on PlayStation 5 at a later date, just like its predecessor, Forza Horizon 5, which became one of the best-selling games on the platform.
  • Horizon 6 will take place across both urban and rural parts of Japan, with Tokyo being one of its most detailed locations to date. “From the neon lights and towering buildings of Tokyo City – one of our most detailed and layered environments to date – to the serenity and natural beauty of Japan’s rural and mountain areas, we think players will be blown away by the open world of Japan that we have built,” said art director Don Arceta in an accompanying Xbox Wire post. “And while we are not necessarily trying to recreate Japan and its environments like for like, our goal has always been to capture the country’s unique cultural essence and present it back in the most Horizon way possible.”
