Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was released last month to universal acclaim, but its new minigame, Queen's Blood, has quickly become a fan favorite, with players eager for more content.

The details:

  • Game director Naoki Hamaguchi spoke with Red Bull about Rebirth's new card game, Queen's Blood, and the overwhelmingly positive response it has received. According to the director, the development team has not "decided anything in terms of future development," but the game's overwhelming success has prompted Square to "consider further expansions as a possibility."

  • In Rebirth, Queen's Blood is a card game in which players place cards in three lanes. Each card allows you to place cards in surrounding areas and alter the power of player and opponent cards. The end goal is to have the most points in two out of three lanes.

  • Currently, there are 145 cards in-game, which players can obtain by purchasing packs from shops and defeating opponents. The number of cards may be increased if it receives an expansion, but the new content will most likely be part of a larger DLC package, similar to FF7 Remake Intergrade.
