Battlestate Games has announced that its hit extraction shooter Escape From Tarkov is coming to Steam after years of only being available through the game’s website.

The details:

  • Following a small teaser post on X from studio head Nikita Buyanov, it has now been confirmed that the game will be available via Steam in the near future. Its Steam store page has yet to go live, but Buyanov has shared another image to give fans an idea of what to expect. "Yes! The page on Steam will be available soon,” Buyanov wrote on X. “All the details later."
  • Since entering closed alpha back in 2016, Escape from Tarkov has only been available directly through the game’s official website, with several editions on offer providing various in-game bonuses. Currently, its full 1.0 version is set to launch on November 15, 2025, with the Steam version likely to be available at release.
  • Despite being credited with pioneering the extraction shooter genre and remaining a massively popular title, the game has not been free of controversy. Last year, Battlestate faced criticism from fans for locking Tarkov's highly anticipated offline mode behind the €300 Unheard Edition, prompting the company to reverse the decision and make it available to owners of the now-delisted "Edge of Darkness" Edition.
