Ecco the Dolphin: Complete collection announced with remasters and a brand-new game

A&R Atelier has announced that the classic Sega series Ecco the Dolphin is returning with Ecco the Dolphin: Complete, a new collection that includes remastered versions of the first two games with a completely new Ecco adventure.

The details:

• The package includes all versions of Ecco the Dolphin and Ecco: The Tides of Time, such as the Sega Mega Drive / Genesis, Master System, Game Gear, and Mega CD releases. Meanwhile, not much has been revealed about the new game, but it has been described as a “contemporary” title.
• New features promised for the collection include built‑in speedrunning support, achievements, and online leaderboards, as well as “meta quests” that span the classic titles and the new game to create additional challenges for players. Players will also be able to create and share custom courses, charting their own route through any combination of levels from across the included games and sharing those playlists with the wider community.
• Ecco the Dolphin: Complete is being developed by California‑based studio A&R Atelier, led by original creator Ed Annunziata and featuring members of the original composition, art, and programming teams.
