Electronic Arts (EA) is looking for a US-based playtester to test out new game features and additions before they are officially released.
The details:
- The publisher has posted a new job listing on its careers site, looking for players to test out future season updates for Respawn Entertainment's battle royale, with an emphasis on "playability and gameplay balance." Candidates must be able to "adapt" their playstyles in order to test out in-game functions from both the perspective of casual and hardcore players.
- A tester will work from 12:00 pm to 9:00 pm CST, entirely from home within the US. EA has also stated that the position is temporary, though there is no information on how long it plans to hire for. Those who are chosen for the position will spend their days attending team meetings, providing feedback to the QA and development teams, and, of course, thoroughly testing the game.
- Candidates must be 18 or older, have a high school diploma or equivalent certification, and have basic PC and console hardware/software knowledge to be considered for the role. Testers will also need a "strong understanding" of Apex Legends, which appears to simply mean knowledge of the game's meta, items, maps, and modes.
More EA news:
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is receiving a PlayStation 4 and Xbox One port. Despite a buggy launch, the title has seen commercial success, prompting EA to develop a port for the previous generation of consoles. There is no release date set, and it is unknown what compromises Respawn will have to make to ensure the game runs smoothly on older hardware.
- According to a recent job listing, Criterion Games is already working on a new open-world Need for Speed game. The description does not reveal much about the project, but we know it will be set in an urban environment.
