EA has confirmed that last-generation versions of the latest entry in the Star Wars Jedi series will be arriving in the future.

The details:

  • CEO Andrew Wilson revealed during the publisher's Q1 2024 earnings call (via VGC) that Respawn is currently working on a port of the title for last-generation consoles. “Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is pure blockbuster entertainment, rooted in a timeless, culture-defining IP. Our team at Respawn proudly launched this title to critical acclaim and commercial success. Millions of players have already engaged with the game, making this one of the biggest events in the Star Wars galaxy this year,” Wilson said. “Thanks to the strength of this legendary franchise and community demand, our development team has committed to bringing this Jedi experience to PS4 and Xbox One.”
  • Wilson did not reveal an expected release date or any additional information about the ports; however, it is expected that the versions will cut back on visual quality and make potential content compromises to perform on the consoles' decade-old hardware. Its predecessor, Fallen Order, was released on last-generation systems and, despite being tailor-made for them, performed poorly on original models.
  • It's no surprise that EA chose to create new versions of Jedi: Survivor after the company announced that it was "overjoyed" with the game's launch performance, with the game reportedly reaching millions of players worldwide. However, the game's release was not without problems, with numerous bugs causing in-game performance to suffer even on the most powerful hardware.
