Elden Ring producer Yasuhiro Kitao has provided fans with an update on the current status of the game’s Shadow of the Erdtree expansion, stating that it’s still in the works and comparing it to Bloodborne.

The details:

  • In an interview with Game Watch (via PCGamesN), Kitao confirmed that, while development is moving forward as planned, fans should expect to wait a little longer before getting their hands on the expansion, as "it'll be a little while yet" until its release.

  • In terms of content, the FromSoftware producer compared Shadow of the Erdtree to Bloodborne, with "new battles and new characters," and given the length of development, fans are already anticipating an experience the size of another game.

  • The Game Awards will be held on December 7, and fans believe that the developer may be ready to provide more information about the project during the show due to recent updates to the game on Steam, with a release window of early next year.
