Crimson Desert fans criticize lack of Intel Arc support, Intel claims it offered support to developer
Pearl Abyss

Pearl Abyss’ new open‑world action RPG Crimson Desert does not currently support Intel Arc graphics on PC, with the studio instead telling affected players to seek refunds rather than offering a workaround. Intel has since stated that it offered to provide support to the studio for several years to make things work.

The details:

  • As confirmed on the game’s official FAQ, Crimson Desert “currently does not support” Intel Arc graphics cards on PC, with systems displaying an error stating that the graphics device is not supported and preventing the game from booting. It appears that Pearl Abyss has no plans to add official support, advising Arc owners who bought the game to request a refund via their respective storefront.
  • It has been said that the disclaimer surrounding its incompatibility was only added or updated around launch, noting that earlier versions of the FAQ and system requirements made no specific mention of Intel GPUs. Unsurprisingly, this has led to criticism from players who pre‑ordered or bought the game before being notified of the game-breaking issue.
  • Intel has responded in a statement to Wfcctech, stating that it reached out to Pearl Abyss “many times” over the past few years, providing the studio with early access to Arc hardware, drivers, and direct support. Despite this, the game still shipped without support, leading the manufacturer to point players back to the studio for any further questions.
