Bungie posts remote job openings for its new Marathon title
Bungie is reviving its Marathon IP, a highly anticipated announcement made during the PlayStation Showcase. Marathon is being developed as a sci-fi PvP extraction shooter, where players, known as Runners, compete for survival, riches, and renown in evolving zones. Set in the year 2850, the game incorporates clone technology, offering synthetic bodies and consciousness shifting abilities. Bungie aims to honor the original Marathon games' mythology and story, while also introducing new elements for fans of the classic first-person shooter. The game is planned for release on PS5, Xbox Series S / X, and PC with cross-play and cross-save capabilities.

While Bungie has not revealed a specific release date, the studio previously stated its intention to launch at least one new IP by 2025. Marathon's general manager, Scott Taylor, promises that the next update will showcase gameplay and bring us closer to the game's launch, although the exact timing remains unknown.
