Gearbox has officially released a new patch for Borderlands 4, finally introducing a highly requested FOV slider for those on console. However, some players have reported encountering new performance issues.

The details:

  • Borderlands 4’s latest update dropped on September 25 and brought with it a myriad of fixes, improvements, and finally, a field of view slider on consoles. According to the patch notes shared on the game’s website, there have been changes in most areas, affecting its cast of playable characters, items, bosses, and other gameplay systems.
  • The patch has also brought some new weekly activities for players to get stuck into. This includes a new Weekly Big Encore Boss with “an even more rewarding loot pool,” a new Weekly Wildcard Mission, and a new location and loot pool for Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine.
  • However, PC players have reported that they are now encountering performance issues after downloading the update, resulting in more stutters than usual. Luckily, Gearbox is already on the case and has advised players to give the game 15 minutes to compile shaders. If the instability continues, the developer has suggested that players clear their shader cache using the method outlined by their graphics card manufacturer.
