Battlefield 6 players met with large queues for its beta as hundreds of thousands secure early access

The early access period of the Battlefield 6 beta is finally here, but players have already run into their first hurdle as EA has already implemented a queue system to keep its servers stable.

The details:

  • Ahead of its full public beta opening up on August 9, its exclusive early access period is open to those who had previously signed up to Battlefield Labs, pre-ordered the game, or have secured a code through giveaways or watching livestreams on Twitch. Even now, fans can watch 30 minutes of any participating Twitch streamer for a chance to receive a code, and the promotion is valid until the beta launches.
  • Despite the fact that the beta is locked behind requirements, its popularity has forced EA to implement a queue system to avoid server issues. The game is currently being played by over 340,000 people on Steam alone, with the queue remaining in the thousands since the beta opened up.
  • The open beta's second weekend will begin on August 14 but will not include an early access period. However, it will include the infantry-only "Empire State" map, new modes like Rush and Squad Deathmatch, and new challenges with progression carried over.
