Apple has announced that Ubisoft and Capcom will bring console titles from two of their most popular franchises to the iPhone 15 Pro, leveraging the power of its new processor.
The details:
- Apple revealed its latest line of smartphones, the iPhone 15, during its Keynote event, with the Pro model powered by its new A17 chip. In comparison to the previous A16, the A17 has a 6-core GPU capable of ray tracing and a faster Neural Engine, with Apple claiming that the phone will be able to handle "higher-quality graphics and rich, immersive game worlds never seen before on a smartphone.”
- Resident Evil Village and the recent remake of Resident Evil 4 will also be ported to the iPhone 15 Pro later this year, according to Apple, and will be the "console version" of the games. Assassin's Creed Mirage will be released on the device in "early 2024," as will another Ubisoft title, The Division Resurgence, also in 2024.
- All iPhone 15 models will be available for pre-order beginning September 15, with the official release date set for September 22. The standard model starts at $799, but those interested in playing the aforementioned games will need to spend a little more to get either the $999 Pro model or the $1,199 Pro Max.
More gaming news:
- The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and PAX organizer ReedPop have announced that they will not collaborate on future E3 events and that E3 2024 will not take place at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Although the event has not been officially canceled, it appears that the ESA will skip another year and return in 2025 with a new format.
- NBA 2K24 is now the second lowest-rated game on Steam, trailing only Blizzard's Overwatch 2. Fans have slammed the PC release for being a port of the game's last-gen version, which has lower-quality visuals and lacks the multiple game modes found in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.
