Amazon is making major changes to its Luna cloud gaming service, ending support for individual game purchases and third‑party store subscriptions as it focuses on its own offerings.

The details:

  • Amazon has confirmed via an email sent to subscribers that, as of April 10, the service no longer offers “game stores, individual game purchases, or third-party subscriptions" and has removed integrated stores for EA, Ubisoft, and GOG from the platform.
  • Previously, players could link their Luna account to EA, Ubisoft, or GOG, buy games on those stores, and then stream them directly via Luna. However, this feature is no longer available, leaving only the platform’s own catalog playable.
  • Players who have already bought titles through Luna’s storefront integrations can continue streaming those purchases only until June 10, after which they will only be playable by downloading them from the platform they were purchased from.
  • Luna will also no longer offer access to Ubisoft+ and Jackbox Games subscriptions through its own interface, and any Ubisoft+ or Jackbox memberships started via Luna will be cancelled at the next billing cycle, requiring players to resubscribe on those services separately.
  • Some users affected by the removal of these features will receive free subscriptions to Luna Standard and Premium for an unspecified period as compensation.
