Akira Toriyama’s Sand Land game finally has a release date
Sand Land, an upcoming video game adaptation of the Akira Toriyama manga, has now received an April release date.
The details:
In a new trailer, Bandai Namco confirmed that the action RPG will be released on April 26, 2024 for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. The game is currently available for pre-order in standard, deluxe, and collectors editions, with each including bonus content and even a figurine for collectors.
Sand Land was announced at the Summer Game Fest 2023 and is being developed by ILCA, the studio behind Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Players will take control of Beelzebub, the Fiend Prince with demonic powers, as he explores Sand Land on foot and by vehicle. A new PlayStation Blog post also revealed that vehicles will play an important role and can be upgraded with new paint, weapons, and decals.
Toriyama, best known for creating Dragon Ball, has previously worked on several video games, including Chrono Trigger, Blue Dragon, and, most notably, Dragon Quest. However, Sand Land is the first video game adaptation of his original work other than Dragon Ball.
