Freelance Audio Lead β Psychological Horror Game (Unreal Engine 5)
Indie studio. Small team. We're building a psychological horror game in UE5 β puzzle-driven, targeting PC/console/VR/mobile. The world is quiet, deliberate, and unsettling. Sound is not decoration here; it's half the game.
We're looking for a freelance Audio Lead to own the full audio pillar end-to-end.
What you'd own
Sound design (ambiences, creature/character vocalizations, mechanical/environmental SFX, UI)
Original music β adaptive, restrained, tension-forward
VO direction and editing (small cast, performance matters more than volume)
In-engine implementation in MetaSounds
Mix and mastering
You should have
Demonstrable game audio work β shipped credits are great, but unshipped projects, jam games, student work, or strong personal pieces are equally welcome
Hands-on Unreal Engine experience β not just delivering assets, but wiring them in
Solid MetaSounds chops, or strong UE5 audio fundamentals and the appetite to go deep on MetaSounds
A reel or portfolio that shows range across SFX, music, and implementation
Bonus
Horror or atmospheric genre experience
VR audio (spatialization, attenuation tuning)
Adaptive/interactive music systems
Logistics
