Microsoft is lowering the price of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, but future Call of Duty titles will no longer launch into the service on day one and will instead arrive about a year after release.

The details:

  • Effective immediately, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate’s price has dropped from 29.99 to 22.99 USD a month, while PC Game Pass has fallen to $16.49 to $13.99, with regional equivalents such as a cut from £22.99 to £16.99 for Ultimate and £13.49 to £10.99 for PC Game Pass in the UK.
  • Game Pass Essential and Premium prices are unchanged at around $9.99 and $14.99 per month, respectively. The included content is also remaining the same, with Premium owners receiving over 200 first-party titles within a year of launch.
  • Starting with this year’s entry, new Call of Duty games will no longer be available to play via Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass at launch, and will instead be added “during the following holiday season,” while existing Call of Duty titles already in the catalogue will remain accessible.
  • The changes arrive just months after Xbox’s new gaming boss Asha Sharma privately described Game Pass as “too expensive for players.” Last year, Microsoft announced that it would be upping the price of the subscription service as it started including more content, such as Fortnite’s Fortnite Crew service, in the Ultimate tier.
