Team17, the developer behind the classic Worms series, has confirmed that it is expecting job cuts across its entire business, with its QA department being hit hard.

As reported by Eurogamer, Team17 has announced for the second time this year that it is laying off employees across its entire business, affecting approximately 50 employees in its QA team and an unknown number of employees in its usability, development, and marketing teams.
The studio has also confirmed CEO Michael Pattison's departure after two years, and that it has entered a "period of consultation" with the company's employees. "In response to the reports concerning the departure of Michael Pattison from Team17, we can confirm we have amicably parted ways with Michael," a spokesperson told Eurogamer. We can also confirm that we have sadly entered into a period of consultation today within Team17 Digital, with Astragon and Storytoys remaining unaffected by the restructuring plans.”
In March, Team17 laid off an unspecified number of development employees as it shifted its focus to publishing titles and external development. This followed a Eurogamer report that exposed the studio for overworking employees, paying low wages, and ignoring employee disapproval of a canceled NFT project, causing its public reputation to suffer significantly.
