Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 receives offline support, but only for the Steam Deck

The Steam port of Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1 + 2 has received a patch that removes the requirement for an internet connection; however, this only affects those playing on the Steam Deck.
The details:
The Steam release received Update 1.1 on October 18, with the patch notes revealing that it simply fixes issues with the keyboard overlay on the Steam Deck and removes the game's always-online requirement, allowing the handheld to run the game entirely offline.
Although this is a welcome change for Steam Deck users, as it was undoubtedly the most common complaint about the game on the system, players have criticized Activision for not allowing the game to be played offline on PC for both the Epic Games Store and Steam releases. Those who launch the game while their PCs are offline will be greeted with a message stating that they must be connected to its servers, with no way to exit the game other than to force close it in Windows.
Despite issues with its always-online structure, THPS 1 + 2 has been well received by both fans and critics since its release in 2020, with the game retaining the originals' classic gameplay and feel while updating its visuals and adding quality-of-life improvements. Unfortunately, Tony Hawk himself claimed that Activision canceled a sequel to the game back in 2022.
