Tekken 8 has been officially confirmed for a January 24, 2023 release date, and pre-orders are now available.

The details:

  • Bandai Namco revealed the game's release date during a new trailer shown at Gamescom Opening Night Live, as well as the fact that pre-orders for the standard, deluxe, and ultimate editions were now open. Pre-orders will include a Paul Phoenix avatar costume, as well as training dummies and "iron man" Mokujin and Tetsujin for PlayStation players.
  • The trailer also showed off its new Arcade Quest single-player mode, which features customizable Mii-like characters competing in Tekken tournaments. According to producer Michael Murray, the mode's gameplay will include some "AI-infused learning aspects," which may bring something new to the table.
  • So far, Tekken 8 is shaping up to be a solid fighting title, with crossplay and rollback netcode confirmed in April and game director Katsuhiro Harada claiming that, unlike Tekken 7, it will not include any form of Denuvo anti-piracy DRM, which Street Fighter 6 does.
