Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection met with backlash over bugs and server issues
Aspyr Media's updated collection of the first two Star Wars: Battlefront games has been met with backlash from players due to bugs, performance issues, and its online multiplayer.
The details:
The Classic Collection was released yesterday, but has quickly received a "mostly negative" rating on Steam, with only 21% of reviews being positive. Fans who purchased the game have taken to X to share their thoughts on the disappointing release, claiming that the multiplayer mode currently only offers three 64-player servers, with no other options to play. This meant that only 196 out of 20,000 players could participate in the game's multiplayer mode at launch.
Despite reports that more servers have been added since, the game remains plagued by bugs, frequent stutters that can render it unplayable, and poor hit registration.
The game, which was announced last month, includes both of the original Battlefront titles, along with additional content and their original visuals. One Steam reviewer noted that most fans buying the collection were likely interested in the online multiplayer as the original PC releases do not offer high player counts, meaning the main draw of the game is essentially missing as of right now.
