Red Dead Redemption can now be played in 60 FPS on PlayStation 5

Rockstar has quietly released an update for Red Dead Redemption's PS4 port that allows PS5 players to enable a 60 FPS mode in the game's settings.

The details:

• Following the controversial release of the PS4 and Nintendo Switch ports of the original Red Dead Redemption in August, fans such as X user @Cade_Onder have spotted that Rockstar has since updated the game to include a 60 FPS mode in its settings as long as it is being played on a PS5.
• Fans were expecting a major Red Dead Redemption announcement in August, following reports and rumors of a remastering and even a full remake on the way. Unfortunately, this was not the case, as Rockstar instead released a port of the original to the Switch and PS4, sparking a wave of criticism for its $50 price tag and lack of improvements.
• Some are still hoping that Rockstar will release a next-generation update for its sequel, which was reportedly canceled internally, allowing the game to run at 4K 30 FPS, which was already possible on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro. Given that the developer is currently working on the next Grand Theft Auto title, which many believe will be revealed imminently, it's unlikely that the patch will be released anytime soon.
