Obsidian's fantasy RPG Avowed is arriving in Fall 2024
Obsidian has released a new deep dive that provides an in-depth look at Avowed's combat, dialogue, and environments, as well as an announcement that it will be available later this year.
The details:
Obsidian revealed more information about Avowed's gameplay at Developer_Direct yesterday, displaying its weapon variety, which includes swords, guns, magic wands, and shields that can be used in either hand for various combinations. For example, an ice wand can be used to freeze an opponent, who can then be shattered with a sword.
In the gameplay demo, we can see one of the game's many side quests, with a soldier near the corpses of his fallen allies. In typical Obsidian fashion, players are then given the option of blaming the soldier for their deaths or explaining that it was not his fault. This decision will then have various effects on the world, and quests will frequently include moral gray areas.
Obsidian has also confirmed that Avowed will arrive in Fall 2024, with a release on Xbox Series X/S, PC through Steam and the Windows Store, and Game Pass.
