Alleged Nintendo Switch 2 images have leaked online
Alleged images of Nintendo's Switch successor have surfaced online, revealing a design similar to the original console but with a number of upgrades.
The details:
The images, which are said to have come from a Chinese social media site, show an alleged console model, what appears to be a manufactured set of revised Joy-Con controllers, and a list of hardware specifications.
The device in the images matches previous rumors about the console, as it has an 8-inch screen, extra buttons on the back of each Joy-Con, and a magnetic connector for each controller instead of the rail-based system found on the original Switch.
According to leaked specifications found in a shipping list, the Switch 2 has 12GB (2x6GB) of RAM, up from 4GB in the original Switch, 256GB of internal storage, and support for HDMI 2.1. These specifications match those that were found in shipping data discovered by Famiboards users in May.
While Nintendo has yet to comment on the legitimacy of the leak, VGC reports that one of its sources has stated that the images line up with what they were told to expect from the design by Nintendo, although they have yet to see the final console.
Nintendo intends to announce the console by the end of March 2025, and it has been claimed that developers were informed by the company not to expect the system to launch any sooner than April.
