Nintendo has confirmed that the compilation of the first three Metal Gear Solid (MGS) games will arrive on the Switch in October.

The details:

  • During the recent Nintendo Direct, Konami announced that the collection of MGS 1, 2, and 3 would be released on the Switch. The game will be available for $59.99 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on October 24; however, players will be able to purchase the games separately for $19.99 each. It’s worth noting that this version of MGS3 is not to be confused with the upcoming remake, MGS Delta: Snake Eater, and is an HD remaster of the original PS2 game.
  • The collection includes not only the first three MGS games but also two versions of the original Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake and Snake's Revenge, as well as two fully voiced graphic novels telling the stories of MGS 1 and 2. The screenplay and master books for each game are also included, containing the in-game text as well as story and character details. Pre-orders will also come with a digital soundtrack that includes orchestral and re-recorded versions of the series' themes.
  • Even though the game will be released physically, it has been revealed that the Switch version will still require additional downloads. Only 2.4 GB of data will be "front-loaded" onto the game card itself, with game downloads totaling 24.1 GB and bonus content downloads totaling an additional 30 GB.
