Following its launch last month, Fumi Gamesโ€™ noir-style indie shooter Mouse: P.I. For Hire has already sold enough copies that its publisher has recouped all investment costs.

The details:

  • As revealed during PlaySideโ€™s latest financial report, Mouse: P.I. has sold over 730,000 units since its April 16 launch across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC, with 50% of sales coming from consoles. The game has also been wishlisted over three million times across all platforms.
  • As a result, the game has generated a total of $21.4 million USD so far, with PlaySide confirming that its marketing and publishing costs have been recouped already. Now, the publisher expects a "continued strong sales performance," with the sales now contributing to its annual revenue figures, which are expected to be around $36 to $38 million.
  • As well as being a commercial success, Mouse: P.I. has been a hit with critics and players, receiving mostly positive reviews. The FPS title follows private investigator Jack Pepper investigating various cases within Mouseburg, a city based on 1930s New York. The game immediately made an impression prior to its launch with its classic rubberhose cartoon inspired visuals, drawing comparisons to the likes of Cuphead.
