Dragon Age: The Veilguard allows you to disable deaths and adjust various gameplay elements
Dragon Age: The Veilguard will include a new difficulty mode called "Unbound," which allows players to adjust enemy health, auto-aiming, and even turn off player deaths entirely.
The details:
As reported by Game Informer, a demo of the game shown to the publication offered three difficulty levels: Storyteller, Adventurer, and Nightmare. Storyteller is a story-focused difficulty, whereas Adventurer strikes a balance between storytelling and combat, and Nightmare is the most difficult option. Players can switch between Storyteller and Adventurer at any point during the game, but Nightmare is a permanent choice.
Unbound, the fourth difficulty option, is a custom difficulty that allows players to toggle aim assist on ranged attacks, adjust enemy and friendly damage output, enemy aggression, and even timing for parry windows. Players can also turn off deaths entirely, meaning they cannot "lose" during combat, which may be useful for those who want to focus solely on other aspects of the game.
Game director Corinne Busche explained that none of the customizable difficulty options are considered a "cheat" by the developer. Instead, "it's an option to make sure players of all abilities can show up," as the game was designed with inclusivity in mind.
