Players recently discovered a way to gain access to Destiny 2's next expansion ahead of its June 4 release date, resulting in a number of gameplay and story leaks.
The details:
Yesterday, players began reporting that by using the PS5's streaming feature, the incorrect build of Destiny 2 would launch, providing direct access to The Final Shape. It's unclear how much of the expansion was playable, but it has been reported that the first few missions, season pass, raid gear, cutscenes, trophies, and more have started appearing online.
The problem appears to have been caused by Sony after it prepared The Final Shape for streaming ahead of time, rather than Bungie, which has taken steps to prevent leaks in recent years. Sony has now fixed the issue, preventing further access to The Final Shape.
Bungieโs future as a studio is currently up in the air following a series of layoffs along with reports of Sony leadership being unsatisfied with its current performance could see its board of directors being dissolved completely. However, it was claimed that the studio is now working on Destiny 3, which will feature significant changes to its gameplay systems.
