Demon's Souls remake developer Bluepoint Games' latest job listing sparks new game rumors
Sony

Bluepoint Games, the PlayStation first-party developer best known for its remakes of Shadow of the Colossus and Demon’s Souls, is now hiring for roles working on its next project, reigniting rumors of a Bloodborne remaster.

The details:

  • As spotted by Tech4Gamers, Bluepoint has recently posted a job listing searching for a “Senior Combat Designer” to help create a new action game, with candidates with knowledge in “3rd-person melee action experiences” preferred.
  • While the listing does not share any additional information about the project, fans have already begun speculating about what it could be. The job listing comes after it was confirmed that Sony had scrapped what was expected to be a live service God of War title at Bluepoint alongside another live service game at sister developer Bend Studio. Given that God of War is also a third-person action series, some believe that the cancelled project may be reworked into a safer single-player title.
  • With Bluepoint being best known for its remakes, others believe that the title could be the long-awaited remake or remaster of FromSoftware’s PS4 exclusive Bloodborne. As the Demon’s Souls remake was met with widespread acclaim from fans and critics following its launch alongside the PS5, it seems like Bloodborne is likely the next title to get the remake treatment, especially now that Sony has become the majority shareholder of FromSoft owner Kadokawa Corporation.
