Capcom has announced that it is discontinuing Dragon’s Dogma 2’s Deluxe Edition and pulling its controversial “time‑saving” microtransactions from sale starting June 24 as the publisher prepares for the launch of its Dark Arisen expansion.

The details:

  • Capcom confirmed the removal in a post to social media, stating that the decision was made “due to the development of additional content and various adjustments for the upcoming title update.” As a result, the Deluxe Edition and a significant number of optional DLC items will be delisted, including the New Journey Pack, Art of Metamorphosis character editor, Portcrystal fast‑travel markers, Wakestones, prison keys, and several Rift Crystal bundles.
  • The Explorer’s Camping Kit, the Dragon’s Dogma Music & Sound Collection, and the base game itself will remain on sale, with the standard digital edition receiving a permanent discount across PlayStation, Xbox, and PC stores from June 24.
  • The move comes two years after Dragon’s Dogma 2 was heavily criticized at launch for quietly shipping with paid items that many players saw as basic quality‑of‑life features, such as extra fast‑travel points and character re‑customization, on top of performance issues on PC.
