It has been reported that 2023’s Call of Duty Modern Warfare III is joining the Xbox Game Pass catalog by the end of the month.

The details:

  • According to Insider Gaming and Windows Central, Microsoft will be adding the latest entry of Activision's FPS franchise to the service in July. The exact date is currently unknown, but sources say it will most likely be in the latter half of the month.

  • This marks the first time a COD title has been added to the service since Microsoft's acquisition of Activision Blizzard last year. Black Ops 6, the series' upcoming 2024 release, will be available on the service from day one for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.

  • The report comes shortly after Microsoft announced that it would raise the price of Game Pass by up to 25% in some regions. While it has not been confirmed that COD's addition to the service contributed to the change, other Activision titles, such as Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, are expected to join the lineup, so it is likely to have played a role.

  • Diablo IV was the publisher's first game to be added to Game Pass back in March. Xbox president Sarah Bond also confirmed that more titles will be added to the service in the future, though it has taken longer than the few days it took to add Bethesda's games after its acquisition.
