Ubisoft’s upcoming title Assassin’s Creed Mirage (AC Mirage) is rumored to have been internally delayed from its supposed August release date to October.

The details:

  • According to Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, Ubisoft Bordeaux's upcoming entry into the AC franchise has been internally delayed for an unknown reason. Following a leak from a GameStop employee earlier this month, the game was rumored to be releasing in August 2023; however, the delay appears to have pushed the release date back to October.
  • A delay has also impacted AC Nexus, the series' first VR title, which has been pushed back by a "couple of months." It was rumored to be released in September 2023, which means it will most likely arrive in November at the earliest, and it is said to be a Meta Quest exclusive. Similarly to Mirage, no reason for the delay has been provided, but it is possibly related to the game's final stages of development.
  • It's unclear whether these delays will affect Ubisoft's reveal of the titles, which was scheduled for June 12 at Ubisoft Forward Live, the publisher's replacement for E3. The publisher also reportedly has ten AC projects in the works, including Mirage and Nexus, with issues potentially stemming from the delays, particularly the reported Nexus sequel, despite the first game not having been released.

More Ubisoft news:

  • Ubisoft reportedly filed lawsuits against several leakers last month for releasing alleged screenshots of the upcoming Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, as well as content from its other titles, including Rainbow Six Siege. However, after leakers began deleting their social media accounts, others continued to share alleged information from its future titles, including a video purportedly of AC Mirage that appeared on Reddit.
  • Ubisoft+ was released in April for Xbox players, offering 65 titles for $17.99 per month. Due to the fact that Xbox users can only purchase the more expensive multi-access plan, the subscription allows players to play games on PC and Amazon Luna.
