A24 is working on the Death Stranding movie
A24, the independent film and television production and distribution company best known for Euphoria and Everything Everywhere All at Once, has announced that it is collaborating with Kojima Productions on a film adaptation of Death Stranding.
The details:
The announcement coincided with the release of a new t-shirt featuring the A24 logo with strands from the game hanging from it. "It's official: we've partnered with Kojima Productions on the live-action feature film adaptation of Hideo Kojima's acclaimed video game, Death Stranding," reads the product description.
So far, not much is known about the project. Kojima previously stated that he is "deeply involved in producing, supervising, plotting, look, design, and content of the film," but will not direct it. Hammerstone Studios is also financing its production, and Bandit director Allan Ungar will serve as an executive producer alongside Kojima.
A24's films have received critical acclaim for their production techniques, excellent casting, and clearly showing a genuine passion for filmmaking. With Kojima's love of cinema (as evidenced by his frequent reviews on X) and his studio launching a movie, TV, and music division in 2021, we could be in for a treat when the film hits theaters.
