We take play seriously. We’re looking for curious adventurers ready to find their party, fueled by imagination and drive to build what’s never been built before. At Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, you’ll collaborate with passionate teams to reimagine our iconic brands and create experiences that spark joy, connection, and community through the magic of play. This is your chance to shape legendary play that lasts a lifetime.

At Wizards of the Coast, we connect people around the world through play and imagination. From our genre-defining games like Magic: The Gathering® and Dungeons & Dragons® to our growing multiverse, we continue to innovate and build new ways to foster friendship and connection. That’s where you come in!

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer II to join our Digital Innovations team and help bring our most beloved brands to digital channels. As a motivated member of the engineering community, you will be responsible for guiding end-to-end product initiatives. You'll partner with Product Leads, Tech Leads, and UX Designers to ship small experiments quickly and refactor solutions from real market and operational signals.

What You'll Do:

  • Be responsible for the technical architecture and multi-quarter roadmap for a major product area or platform, aligning architecture decisions with long-term business strategy.
  • Partner closely with product management, design, and leadership to shape product strategy and translate business goals into technical execution.
  • Champion a culture of experimentation, creating the space and guardrails for teams to take smart technical risks and learn fast from what doesn't work.
  • Translate research, customer signals, and competitive insight into concrete technical innovation that creates lasting advantage for the business.
  • Challenge entrenched assumptions about how we build, and lead the rethinking of systems that have outgrown their original design.
  • Serve as a technical escalation point for the most complex production issues, and improve the systems and processes that prevent them from recurring.
  • Raise the agentic AI bar: model effective agent workflows for software development, share patterns for instructing and validating agents, and help fellow engineers ramp up.

What You'll Bring:

  • 8+ years building and shipping web products across frontend and backend.
  • A track record of leading high-impact, multi-team technical initiatives from ambiguity to launch.
  • Deep expertise in distributed systems, system design, and the tradeoffs involved in building for scale, reliability, and performance.
  • Strong proficiency in one or more programming languages and fluency in modern software engineering practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across teams and to bring stakeholders to alignment through clear writing and communication.
  • A bias for pragmatic, data-informed decisions and a strong sense of ownership over outcomes, not just deliverables.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and elevating the technical standards of the teams you work with.
  • Hands-on experience using AI agents for production delivery including validating and correcting AI-generated code.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with both relational and non-relational databases.
  • Curiosity about or knowledge of Wizards brands (e.g., Magic: The Gathering).
