Jaxon.GG is a next-generation esports & competitive gaming publication built for Gen Z and the emerging global esports audience. We aim to help define the new media within a maturing esports ecosystem - where credibility, access, and culture matter as much as speed & reach.

We focus on sharp editorial, original reporting, interviews and high-quality analysis across the biggest esports titles - combining insider access, player-driven stories, and deep knowledge of competitive gaming culture.

We’re now looking for an Esports Content & Editorial Manager to take ownership of editorial quality, content operations, and contributor output at Jaxon.GG, while also supporting content initiatives and distribution across relevant assets.

The Role

As Esports Content & Editorial Manager, you’ll be responsible for shaping and maintaining the editorial standard of Jaxon.GG. This is a hands-on editorial role for a passionate candidate who lives and breathes esports - someone who understands players, teams, tournaments, and the culture surrounding them.

You’ll work closely with writers, contributors, and internal stakeholders to ensure content is accurate, engaging, and aligned with Jaxon’s voice. You’ll also play a key role in managing access-driven content, including interviews with players, talent, and industry figures.

While performance and SEO matter, this role is first and foremost about editorial excellence, storytelling, and credibility within the esports & pro gaming community.

Key Responsibilities

Editorial Ownership & Quality Control

Own the editorial calendar for Jaxon.GG and ensure consistency, quality, and tone across all content.
Edit, proofread, publish, and optimize content with a strong focus on clarity, structure, and accuracy.
Uphold and evolve editorial guidelines that reflect Jaxon.GG’s voice and standards.
Maintain high QA standards before and after publication.

Esports Editorial Expertise

Review and improve content across major esports titles (e.g. CS2, League of Legends, Dota 2, VALORANT, Fortnite, Marvel Rivals, and more).
Confidently edit and guide content covering:
- Tournaments and leagues
- Teams and organizations
- Players and talent
- Formats, meta discussions, and industry developments
Stay ahead of esports trends, roster moves, competitive storylines, odds, predictions and cultural moments.

Content Production & Distribution

Coordinate content production with freelance writers and contributors.
Write clear briefs and provide constructive editorial feedback.
Support content adaptation across formats, including:
1. Social-first editorial content
2. Video scripts, outlines, and supporting copy
3. Short-form and platform-specific versions of long-form pieces
4. Betting-adjacent editorial content where relevant, ensuring clear labeling, compliance, and alignment with Jaxon.GG’s editorial standards.
Collaborate with internal and external production partners where needed.

Content Strategy & Editorial Support

Work alongside SEO and marketing stakeholders to align editorial content with broader goals - without compromising quality.
Support content updates, internal linking, and structural improvements with a user-first mindset.
Identify opportunities to expand content formats, coverage areas, and storytelling approaches.
Contribute ideas that strengthen Jaxon.GG’s authority and editorial identity.

Collaboration & Operations

Communicate clearly with freelance contributors, journalists, editors, and internal teams.
Manage workflows, deadlines, and content priorities, including ensuring content KPIs are delivered.
Support and lead the function of content distribution across various channels, from social media to video formats.
Help refine editorial processes, workflows, and operational standards to improve content quality and scalability.

Required Skills & Experience

2+ year of experience in content editing, content management, or editorial roles, ideally within esports, gaming, streaming, or entertainment.
Strong editing and proofreading skills with a sharp editorial eye.
Deep interest and working knowledge of esports and competitive gaming.
Genuine enthusiasm for gaming culture, players, and the competitive scene.
Experience working with WordPress or similar CMS platforms.
Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals as they relate to editorial content.
Experience coordinating freelance writers or contributors.
Fluent written English.
Proactive, detail-oriented, and collaborative mindset.

Nice to Have

Strong passion for esports & competitive gaming, with active interest in major titles and scenes.
Familiarity with esports betting content, including responsible use of odds & predictions, where relevant and compliant with editorial standards.
Experience working with or briefing video content.
Familiarity with social media content distribution in gaming/esports.
Prior experience working with interview-based or access-driven content.
