Ubisoft is continuing its ongoing restructuring efforts with additional layoffs now confirmed at its Abu Dhabi development studio, marking yet another wave of job cuts at the publisher over the past few months.

The details:

  • Ubisoft has confirmed in a statement to Game Developer that it let go of 29 employees at its Abu Dhabi support studio in November 2025 following the cancellation of a project. "In November, Ubisoft made the difficult decision to restructure its Abu Dhabi mobile studio, discontinuing some projects in order to focus on Growtopia. As a result, this change impacted 29 team members," said a company spokesperson. "We remain deeply grateful for their contributions and are providing support to them throughout the transition."
  • Several former employees at the developer have taken to LinkedIn to announce their departure, with posts as recent as this week. It appears that various departments have been impacted, with members of its social media, customer support, and art teams all confirming layoffs.
  • Ubisoft has made several major job cuts over the past few months, with reductions confirmed at Ubisoft Halifax, Massive Entertainment, and Ubisoft Stockholm, resulting in over 100 redundancies.
