Tony Hawk says will "campaign all he can" for remasters of the Underground games

Tony Hawk has responded to fan requests for remasters of the Tony Hawk's Underground series, saying he will "campaign all he can" for the games.

The details:

• Speaking with Screen Rant at a Pro Skater 3+4 preview event, the Birdman was asked about any future plans for remakes of other titles in the long-running skateboarding franchise, specifically the massively popular fifth installment, Underground. "I always have aspirations," Hawk said. "It's not up to me generally. I'll campaign all I can, but I'm working with a much bigger company that's a lot smarter than me."

• Hawk went on to say that no discussions have taken place about any future games other than Pro Skater 3+4, which will be released in June after development was originally cancelled a few years ago. He went on to say that the commercial and critical success of Pro Skater 3+4 will most likely determine whether Underground receives a remake or remaster later down the line.

• 2003's Underground has become one of the most popular entries in the Tony Hawk franchise, and expands on the free-roaming gameplay of Pro Skater 4 with an actual storyline and a voiced player-made protagonist. Meanwhile, its sequel, Underground 2, takes a more comedic approach, with Hawk and Bam Margera leading two teams of skaters and performing ridiculous Jackass-inspired stunts with plenty of pop culture references from the early to mid 2000s.
