Take-Two Interactive held its Q1 FY27 earnings call today and reaffirmed its forecast of $8.0 to $8.2 billion in net bookings for the fiscal year, with Grand Theft Auto 6 arriving on November 19 as the centerpiece of that projection. CEO Strauss Zelnick also revealed that GTA 6 preorders since opening on June 25 have been unlike anything the company or the industry has seen before.

The details:

  • Take-Two confirmed GTA 6 has not been delayed and will launch November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X. The $8 billion forecast was first given in May at the company's Q4 FY26 earnings, and today's call is the first to include preorder data from the game's sales window.
  • On preorders, Zelnick said: "No one's ever seen anything like this before at Take-Two, or in the industry. The level of preorders is unprecedented and astonishing, and we're grateful for that." Preorders opened on June 25.
  • Zelnick tempered expectations alongside the praise, noting: "To be clear, we haven't sold one unit yet. You can cancel a preorder." He described the company's position as "cautiously optimistic."
  • GTA 6 carries an $80 price tag, which Take-Two has defended as "phenomenal value."
  • GTA 6 marketing is reportedly running on "virtually every social media outlet on Earth," per separate comments made during the call.
